UWHS Program Staff

Tim Stetter

Director

Tim Stetter has led the UW in the High School program for more than 15 years and is still excited by creating partnerships with schools and serving Washington students. A nationally recognized leader in college access programs, Stetter has served as president and accreditation commissioner for the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships. In Washington state, Stetter has contributed to statewide training, policy development and legislation, including the state law that made it possible for students who attend public high schools to earn credit through College in the High School courses at no cost.

Previously, Stetter worked as an educator and program manager in a wide range of settings, including at the UW’s Burke Museum of Natural History & Culture. Stetter holds a master’s degree in environmental studies from Antioch University New England and a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Delaware.

Alysha Herrera

Senior Program Manager

Alysha Herrera joined the UW in the High School team during Spring 2025, finding an instant alignment between the statewide program and her passion for collaborative academic experiences. Herrera primarily focuses on program quality while strengthening the partnerships between high school instructors, campus administrators and UW faculty.

Herrera has always been an enthusiastic leader of educational spaces, spanning from the classroom to a nonprofit STEM museum and a multi-site tutoring organization. Herrera holds a master’s degree in project management and process improvement from the University of Houston–Downtown and a bachelor’s degree in child learning and development from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Mary Schweikl

Program Administrator

Mary Schweikl has been UW in the High School’s program administrator for 10 years. She loves working with students and families to help make their jump from high school to college feel a little less overwhelming by providing information about UWHS and the opportunities available for students. She also partners closely with university faculty and high school teachers to coordinate courses, troubleshoot challenges and provide tools that support a successful experience. She loves being part of a team that helps students see what’s possible and helps them achieve their goals.

Previous to Schweikl’s work with UWHS, she managed offices for elementary schools in the Ferndale and Nooksack School Districts. Working with teachers, students and families in an educational setting has always been her passion.
